I spent a lot of time researching the mental (aka cognitive) load of motherhood and the stress that comes with it.
Unfortunately, the tools to combat it aren’t found in any baby book. No one can prepare us for the sudden lifestyle or priority changes that come with having children. Although you may have anticipated sleepless nights, the way it actually feels versus what we prepare for is VASTLY different, right? We could all use a little help these days with productivity. And no, I don’t mean getting ‘more’ tasks done, an unrealistic goal in the Covid-era. But it’s about lightening the mental load to improve our psychological wellbeing.
Visit moms hierarchyofneeds.com to read, “Is There A Better Way to Fight the Mental Load and Get Things Done?”, for my key takeaways from David Allen’s book, that are still relevant today, “Getting Things Done.”
