Sometimes we hold ourselves to unrealistic expectations. We set personal goals in a vacuum. And then forget how the systems that surround and support us affect how we make progress. Or if we make progress, uneven systems broken by years of bias, stifle our spirit and limit human progress.

So, as we celebrate Juneteenth and Pride this month, let’s remember that we all have a role to play in advancing liberation. Let’s make equitable access to safety and the realization of our potential is non-negotiable.
