Although I absolutely LOVE the special bond with my kids, I’m also committed to sharing the mental load and household work with my partner.
We see it all the time, not just in our own homes, but when children are sick or hurt, who do they usually want?…Mom! But as our children grow, if we remain the ‘default parent’ for everything from boo-boo’s to baths, it can become overwhelming.
And, if the childcare and housework isn’t shared evenly, it quickly becomes a source of tension and disagreement in many households (okay, mine.)
