When one person is carrying the majority of the responsibility and mental load, it can lead to feelings of loneliness and resentment. If you feel stuck at home with a partner who isn’t supporting you, it just adds weight to the pressure of quarantine. The idea of equal partnership is great but getting there isn’t easy.
I had the pleasure of interviewing, Dr. Michelle Hastings, Director for the Counseling Center at the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, and couples therapist. She offered wonderful advice on how to work through these issues with increased communication.
